When staying in Yokohama, Shin-Yokohama is within walking distance from International Stadium Yokohama (the venue), with Yokohama, Minatomirai, Kannai, Isezakicho, Yamashita-koen Park and Chinatown all conveniently located 15-30 minutes away by train. In addition, you have the added convenience of being able to reach Shinagawa Station in 11 minutes or Tokyo Station in 18 minutes by shinkansen (bullet train).

The Shin-Yokohama Station area, home to International Stadium Yokohama, contains a large number of business hotels and other hotel facilities. Note, however, that many may be fully booked during the IAAF World Relays.

Around Shin-Yokohama Station

This is the most convenient accommodation in terms of access to Yokohama International Stadium and in terms of access to the JR Tokaido shinkansen. There are many hotels located between Shin-Yokohama Station and the stadium. In addition, a limousine bus to Haneda Airport operates directly from the Shin-Yokohama Prince Hotel or Shin-Yokohama Station.

Around Yokohama Station

A large terminal station where JR lines, private lines, and municipal subways all converge. From Shin-Yokohama Station, it takes 11-13 minutes to reach Yokohama by JR Yokohama Line or 11 minutes by municipal subway. The east exit of Yokohama Station is closest to Yokohama Port, where there are high-rise buildings connecting to a large shopping center and the Minatomirai 21 ara. YCAT (Yokohama City Air Terminal) buses and limousine buses run to Narita and Haneda airports. On the other side, the west exit is a busy section with large and small commercial facilities, where it is easy to enjoy food until the late hours.

Around Minatomirai 21

An area where there are many sightseeing spots such as Nipponmaru Memorial Park and the Red Brick Warehouses as well as large commercial facilities. The nearest train stations are Sakuragicho Station and Minatomirai Station. From Shin-Yokohama Station, Sakuragicho Station is 15 minutes away by JR Yokohama Line or municipal subway. Taking the Minatomirai line to Minatomirai station involves a change at Yokohama Station, making the total trip take approximately 20 minutes.

Around Kannai and Isezakicho

Around Kannai and Bashamichi areas, there are many historical buildings and public offices on the sea side of the JR/Subway stations of Sakuragicho and Kannai. On the other side of these stations is Isezaki-cho and Noge, two areas with many shopping streets and restaurants. Noge, in particular, is known as Yokohama’s best place to drink. From Shin-Yokohama Station, Kannai can be reached in 17 minutes by JR Yokohama Line or municipal subway.

Around Yamashita Park/Chinatown

The area on the sea side of the Minatomirai line’s Motomachi-Chukagai Station has the true atmosphere of a port town, alongside the largest Chinatown in Japan. From Shin-Yokohama Station to Motomachi-Chukagai Station takes about 30 minutes, including a transfer at Yokohama Station.
